Sony has just announced to developing a new pro-level HD camcorder namely the Sony NXCAM HD camcorder. NXCAM camcorder features E-mount lens system with the little NEX mirrorless cameras, a Super-35mm equivalent sensor and would have an XLR mic input for professional audio.
The Sony NXCAM Camcoder design would be a more professional with an optional grip and separate LCD monitor along with the built-in flip display. The future camera should record at up to 1080p, though whether it will reach up to 60 frames per second and the video will be captured in AVCHD format, shooting at 1080p in 60p, 30p, 24p, 50p and 25p frame rates.
The Super-35mm sensor will have extraordinary performance in terms of picture quality and sensitivity, and is able to create rich defocused image effect for artistic story-telling in motion picture. Sony plans to release and commercialize the NXCAM HD camcorder in the first half of 2011 and has a rough estimated price reflecting its pro focus, equivalent to $7,187.
