Archos, the French consumer electronics company has launched their smart home phone, called as ARCHOS 35 few month ago and now the 35 smart home phone has recently garnered FCC approval and will be headed to the US soon. ARCHOS 35 smart home phone is a Home DECT phone and working on Android 2.2 Froyo with support Android functionalities. So you can used to talk around the house like the a traditional DECT phone plus you can check email, surfing internet, listen music or play your favorite Android games.
Under the hood, the latest smart home phone from Archos has configuration like the common smartphone. You will find 1 GHz TI OMAP 3630 for processor with support OpenGL® ES 2.0 for graphic accelerator, 8 GB of internal storage with support a micro SDHC expansion card slot that gives you spacoius of storage capacity, built-in front facing VGA camera with a microphone plus built-in speaker and sporting a 3.5 inch color touch screen display that offer low resolution at 272 x 480 pixels. ARCHOS 35 not has high resolution display, but it’s enough for display Namer and number caller ID, web browsing or video calling with your friends or family.
Physically, ARCHOS 35 phone comes with stylish design and looks much like any Android smartphone. Measurement of the device are 126 mm x 61 mm x 11 mm with weight at 90 gram without charging dock. For connectivity, it will be equipped with Micro USB 2.0 High Speed, Micro SD card slot, 3.5mm audio jack and WiFi® b/g/n wor wireless internet connection. The compnay also claims if the handset work in DECT 1.9GHz frequency and support any DECT base station.
According to product page, the ARCHOS 35 also allow users to download thousand of useful apps in AppsLib and support Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7® and Mac® OS 10.4 in mass storage mode. In Europe market, ARCHOS 35 smart home phone is ready for purchase with price tag at £119.99, but there is no information about price or release date in US market. We expected it will be release for cost at $159.
