Bell Samsung Galaxy DiscoverAfter hit Telus two months ago, the affordable smartphone from Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy Discover or Samsung SGH-S730M smartphone will be release in Bell Canada and expected will be ready for order for Bell’s potential buyer in January 15, 2013. Like the Telus model, Bell Samsung Galaxy Discover also comes with a 3.5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen AMOLED display with multi touch sensitive controls and support a native resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Comes with a 800MHZ Cortex-A5 single processor with a 512 MB RAM and integrated with a 4GB of internal storage, the Discover smartphone is an entry level smartphone that designed for entry to middle level users, so don’t imagine to play HD video or play latest modern games on this handset. Running on Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the operating system (upgradeable to Android ICS), the device also has a microSD card slot for expanded memory space with extra 32GB for more video and music files.

On the back cover, you will find a 3MP rear camera with support auto focus, Shot Modes, Geo-tagging, LED flash and support a resolution of 2048 by 1536 pixels for capture photos and video recording. Like Sony Xperia E budget smartphone, this handset lacks front facing camera and 4G LE connectivity. Weighing at 122 g with measures 127.9 x 67.4 x 12.7 mm, the Samsung model is little heavier and thicker than Xperia model which measures 113.5 x 61.8 x 11mm and has weighs only at 115.7 grams.

Like other Android smartphone on it’s class, Bell Galaxy Discover also comes with a MP3 Ringtones, Voice Memo, Voice Mail, speakerphone, accelerometer, proximity, GPS with A-GPS support, an audio jack, Document viewer, Photo viewer/editor and download more entertainment and productivity apps in Android Play Market, as well as microUSB v2.0 port, Bluetooth with A2DP, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g with Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities and a Lithium Ion 1300 mAh battery that provides up to 7 h 20 min of talk time or up to 440 hours of standby time.

Unfortunately, Bell Samsung Galaxy Discover is has a higher price than Telus model. You can buy the Bell for price of $200, instead of $69.99 outright for Telus Galaxy Discover (via BestBuy).
