BlackBerry Curve 8980 Review, Specs and Release Date

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) site has has published the successor of BlackBerry Curve 8900 and BlackBerry Bold 9700 namely BlackBerry Curve 8980. BlackBerry 8980 has 3G feature like Curve 8900 and Bold 9700, but has picked WirelessN connectivity and On the front panel of Curve 8980 is the optical trackpad (Curve 8900 is a trackball).

BlackBerry 8980 smartphone is boasts 256MB flash memory, 3.2 MP camera with flash, optical trackpad along with BlackBerry keyboard, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, microUSB, 3.5mm headset jack, and offered with the BlackBerry 5 Operating System rather than  BlackBerry 6. Of course, RIM might want to update the handset’s OS sometime after launch.

The Curve 8980 smartphone features quad band 850MHZ and 1900MHz GSM/EDGE radios, but no 3G radio. Unfortunately, there is no word on pricing and release date of BlackBerry Curve 8980, But considering the specs of this phone and need getting FCC approval, Research In Motion (RIM) maybe will be release offered in USA market and North America.
