HTC and Sprint just-announced a new HTC EVO series smartphone, Evo Shift 4G smartphone. Sprint HTC Evo Shift 4G designed with a faux aluminum texture around the front panel and a soft touch back panel and made of midnight blue plastic. HTC Evo Shift 4G is support WiMAX network and launched with a lower price than any previous 4G-capable phone in Sprint, the HTC Evo 4G and the Samsung Epic 4G.
The HTC Evo Shift 4G is powered by 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7630 CPU, 3.6-inch glass capacitive WVGA TFT LCD touchscreen sports a 480-by-800-pixel resolution, 512 MB RAM, 2 GB ROM, 5 MP camera Color CMOS with auto focus and 720p HD video recording, a sliding QWERTY keyboard and built-in 1500mAh battery is claimed to provide up to 6 hours of talk time on the phone. The device is running on Android 2.2 (Froyo) OS with HTC Sense UI that support access over 200,000 third-party apps in Android Market.
For connectivity, Sprint Evo Shift 4G Android smartphone is offers WiFi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, Mobile Hotspot capable, 3.5mm stereo audio jack, micro-USB and support for Sprint’s WiMAX powered 4G network. Sprint claims that the Evo Shift 4G should be capable of 3 to 6Mbps download speeds, on average, when in 4G covered areas. Dimensions of Evo Shift 4G are 117mm x 58mm x 15mm (4.6in x 2.3in x .6in) and weight 167g (5.9oz).
Sprint HTC Evo Shift 4G also preloaded with Facebook, Flickr, Twitter Apps, Amazon’s MP3 and Kindle apps and WebKit browser that easily handles WAP and desktop HTML. HTC Evo Shift 4G is now available at Sprint retail channels for price of $149.99 at just $149.99 (excluding taxes) after a $100 mail-in rebate and activation on a new two-year service agreement will required $10 Premium Data Add-On.
