Kyocera Communications Inc, the headquarters for Kyocera- and Sanyo company just officially introduced their new entry level Android smartphone at CTIA Wireless 2012 trade show, called as Kyocera Hydro. Designed to gives portable device for daily use, the Hydro is water resistant phone with latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the operating system make the device is ideal for outdoor use or travelling.

As the water resistant, new Kyocera Hydro smartphone is has certified waterproof for IPX5 and IPX7. It’s also protected against water jets, a sink, spills, rain and water immersion until 3 feet up to 30 minutes, so you didn’y worry of the handset drops in a toilet or bathup. Designed from high materialplastics with textured panel and the battery, port covers and the display has rubber gaskets. It’s mesaures 4.53 x 2.44 x 0.50 inches (115.0 x 62.0 x 12.8 mm) with weighs only at 4.16 ounces (120 grams) make the latest Kyocera mobile phone is comfortable to hold in your hand. It’s has same weighs, but thicker than LG Optimus Elite which has dimensions in 117 x 63 x 10 mm.
For the heart of the device, it’s offers a 1GHZ QUALCOMM Snapdragon MSM8655 processor paired with 512MB of RAM, 2GB of storage with support microSD card slot for expanded storage capacity up to 32GB and sports an 3.5 inch HVGA IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with support maximum resolutions at 480 x 320 pixels. On the back, there is a 3.2 Mega Pixel camera with LED flash for capture photos and support video camcorder.
For connectivity and port, you’ll find micro USB 2.0 port, 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack, Stereo Bluetooth 2.1 for easy transfer file to other device, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with support Wi-Fi hotspot capability (supports up to 5 devices). It’s works on CDMA 1x EVDO Rev. A and ship with a 1500 mAh Lithium ion (Li-Ion) battery with support Eco Mode for battery power management application which offer long standby time and talk time in one charge.

Like other ICS smartphone, the 3.5 inch Hydro smartphone also support for Google™ Mobile services including Google Voice™, Google Search™, Google Maps™, Google Calendar™, Google Latitude™, Gmail™, YouTube™ and download tousand of apps, video, games and books in Google Play. Unfortunatelly, it’s lacks front facing camera for video chats. According the press release, Kyocera Hydro smartphone will be release on 2nd half of this year, but there is no informations about pricing.
