The latest Optimus smartphone series from LG, dubbed as Optimus G has announced in Press Event in New York City. Combines betwen Quad core Qualcomm’s S4 Pro chip for faster and more responsive system with minimalism design and 4G LTE support for blazing speed, LG Optimus G smartphone bring a new level of smartphone technology to users that need ultimate power for more efficient multi-tasking and fast connectivity for daily activities.
Comes with L-style design in plastic white casing with weighs only at 145 grams and measures 131.9 x 68.9 x 8.5 mm, the latest Optimus series is easy to slip into your wallet or pocket and comfortable to operate in palm of your hand. LG Optimus G sports a gorgeous 4.7 inch True High Definition edge to edge screen with support 720p video playback. It uses the in-cell touch technology that promises will gives brighter, clearer and beautiful color for images and video than IPS screen. Like other high end smartphone, the screen also comes with multitouch support, virtual QWERTY keyboard and capable to produce maximum resolutions at 1280 x 768-pixel.
The Optimus G series also offer impressive configurations. Inside, you’ll find Qualcomm MDM9615/APQ8064 quad core processor which has a base clock speed at 1.5GHZ, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and integrated Adreno 320 as grahics accelerator. Working with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the operating system with Optimus UI v3.0, the phone provides ultimate power to running multi tasking smoothly. No word on updated to Jelly Bean, but like other high end smartphone, we belive the company will bring the Android 4.1 to this model in the future.
The other interesting on this model is the rear camera. Like the Xperia T smartphone, it has 13 Megapixel auto focus camera that features “Cheese shutter”, face detection, image stabilization, Led Flash and Geo-tagging. The Optimus G’s rear camera high quality photos and capable to shoot 1080p video record at 30fps. While on the front, it have standart 1.3 megapixel camera with dedicated mic with Active noise cancellation for face to face video communications with your friends or family, as well as stereo loudspeakers with Dolby mobile sound enhancement for audio.
Other LG Optimus G specs are 3.5mm audio jack, a 2,100 mAh battery (up to 15 hours of talk-time), micro USB port, GPS with A-GPS support, DLNA, bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with support Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-Fi hotspot capability, as well as gyro, proximity, accelerometer and compass for sensor features. Reportedly, the 4.7 ICS smartphone also support 4G LTE networks.
Yes, it’s the first LG’s smartphone that equippped with Qualcomm’s S4 Pro quad core processor and support 4G LTE networks make it one of the fastest Android smartphone that currently will be available in the market. Beside the pros, the Optimus G also have few cons, such as no additional memory space via microSD card slot and it have non-removable back cover which mean you can’t replace the battery. According to company, LG Optimus G smartphone will be available in Global Market in October and release in South Korea in next week.
