Few weeks ago LG has showed the video of Optimus VU smartphone and now the company has officially unveiled LG Optimus Vu. Designed to be competitor for Galaxy Note, this device is boasts big screen display with an 5 inch IPS LCD display whcih offer 4:3 aspect ratio, 650 nits brightness and support maximum resolutions at 1024 x 768 pixels provide great viewing experience for web brwosing, streaming video or playing games, even in outdoor use.
With that screen size, LG Optimus Vu smartphone is blur the line between smartphone and tablet. The smartphone/tablet hybrid also comes with impressive hardware specifications. On the inside, you will find powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-cores processor that has clocking speeds of 1.5GHz, coupled with 1 GB RAM, integrated with graphics processor and working on Android 2.3 Gingerbread as the operating system. Might be you dispointed with the OS, but LG promises within 3 months if the handset will get updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Like the competitor, this smartphone tablet boasts dual camera with 8 megapixel rear auto focus camera on the back with flash for capture photos and support 1080p HD video recording, while on the back, you will find 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for self portraits or make face to face video chats with your friends or family. You can also connect it with bigger HDTV to enjoy the content with your friends,thanks to an HDMI port.
In term of size, it measures in 139.6 x 90.4 x 8.5 mm with weighs at 168 grams and packed with a 2,080 mAh battery which give enough power supply for your activities. According the LG Korea, LG VU smartphone also support Stylus-input which called Rubberdium pen for handwrite notes, annotated images, sketching and much more. Other features are QuickClip hotkey to easily capture screenshots and and memos with a single click from screen.
For storage, buyer will get 32GB internal storage, but it lacks microSD card slot for expandabel storage capacity. It also comes with micro USB port, DLNA support, 3.5 mm audio jack, WiFi for internet connections in Hot Spot area with support WiFi Direct and T-DMB digital TV support. LG is planning to release LG Optimus Vu Android smartphone early next month in Korea Market via SK Telecom, but unfortunatelly, there is no informations about worldwide release date or price at this moment. Hopefully, the company will show up the Optimus VU at MWC 2012 next week.
