Verizon Wireless is ready for release of a new smartphone which is based on Google’s Android operating system, called LG Vortex. The Vortex android smartphone is American version of LG’s Optimus CDMA and specs are also very similar to the other Optimus devices.
LG Vortex comes with 600Mhz processor, a 3.2-inch touchscreen display that boasts a HVGA resolution, 170MB internal storage, microSD card slot, 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, 1500 mAh battery, 2GB memory card and runs Android 2.2 Froyo.
Other specification of the Vortex Smartphone includes built-in GPS receiver, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth connectivity, FM Radio, accelerometer, digital compass, light sensor, and 3.5mm headset jack. There is also Multimedia Video Playback MPEG4, H.263, H.264, DivX, XviD, WMV, AVI and Music Player MP3, AAC+, WMA, WAV
The LG Vortex is expected to be available at Verizon before the end of November with no specific details available on pricing of this Android 2.2 smartphone.
