Motorola Defy+ JCB Android Smartphone Review, Specification, Price and Features

Motorola has unveiled they next generation and limited edition of Motorola Defy+ that namely Motorola Defy+ JCB. According the name, Motorola Defy plus JCB features “patented visco-elastic protective sleeve” from JBC. “We’re thrilled to be working with JCB on this bespoke Motorola DEFY+ device,” said Motorola Mobility’s UK Marketing Director Victoria McManus.

If you not familiar with JBC, they are construction, demolition and agricultural equipment manufacturing company, so they made this smartphone with rugged casing that meet ‘Ingress Protection Rating’ of 67 certified. The company claims if the Motorola Defy+ JCB smartphone can survive in water to a depth of one metre plus protected from knocks, drops and splashes. The smartphone also preloaded with several new features to enhanced mobile experience, such as JCB branded skin with shock absorption, a B&Q store locator and a neat ToolBox set of applications includes a torch app (using the camera’s flash), Therodolite, Spirit Level, decibel meter and recorder, calculator and unit converter.

For hardware configurations, Defy plus JCB is similars with original Defy+. It powered by a 1GHz single core processor paired with 512 MB of RAM and 1GB of ROM, PowerVR SGX530 for graphics accelerator, 2GB of built in storage with support microSD card slot for expand storage capacity up to 32GB (2GB microSD card in box) and running on Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread as the operating system. There is no information about upgraded, but we expected the Android smartphone will get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich next future.

Like the standart Defy+, the new models packs with a 3.7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, Light sensor, Proximity sensor and protected with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass display, 5-megapixel auto focus camera on the back with flash and digital zoom for capture photos and video recording, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi for internet, DLNA and 1700 mAH Lithium Ion battery that claims will be give up to 7.1 hours of talk time and up to 16 days in standby time.

Other features are Adobe® Flash® Player 10 support, Motorola Media Link  to sync with other device, MOTOBLUR™ for easy access in your favorite apps and full access in Google Mobile Service, such as GMail, GMaps, YouTube, Picassa, Google Search plus download more  than 300.000 free or paid apps, widget, music, multimedia or games in Android market.
