Finally, Verizon has announced the availability of their latest Motorola Android smartphone, Motorola Droid 4. The Droid 4 is the successor of Motorola DROID RAZR, but it has smaller display size and packed with a physical sliding QWERTY keyboard with LED edge-lit keys provide more convenient and accurate when you typing email or update your social network sites. It’s also support Verizon’s 4G LTE for faster connections than previous versions and promises will give users up to 12 megabits per second for download speeds and up to 5 Mbps for upload speeds.

Like other Motorola Droid series, Motorola Droid 4 smartphone is water-resistant phone that can be submerged into water and sports a 4-inch qHD TFT capacitive touchscreen LCD display with High-resolution display at 540 x 960 pixels, High pixel densitiy screen at 275 ppi, multi touch, Swype support and designed to resist scrapes and scratches and a splash-guard coating. With a 4 inch display, the new Verizon 4G LTE smartphone has measures in 127 x 67.3 x 12.7 mm with weight at 178.9 g and offer 1785 mAh Lithium Ion battery provide up to 750 minutes for talk time and up to 205 hrs for standby time.

Under the hood, the Verizon Motorola Droid 4 comes with impressive configurations. Powered by 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 dual cores processor with TI OMAP 4430 chipset, PowerVR SGX540 as the graphics accelerator, 1 GB RAM and running on Android 2.3.5 as the operating system provide stable device for daily task, web browsing, streaming video and much more. The company also promises an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the future.

For multimedia storage, buyer will get 16GB of onboard memory that completed with microSD card slot for expandable storage capacity up to 32GB. The 8 megapixel auto focus rear facing camera featuring LED flash, Geo-tagging, face detection and image stabilization is ideal for capture photos or up to 1080p video recording at 30fps, while 1.3 MegaPixel front facing camera with 720p HD video capture support allows you to make video chats with your freinds or family. You can also connect the device with external HDTV through mini HDMI port.

Other features are FIPS 140-2 government-grade encryption support, Citrix Receiver for Android, Smart Actions app to control and mastermind your phone’s settings, support Motorola’s Lapdock 500, Quickoffice®, GoToMeeting®, MOTOPRINT, MotoCast™ app to remotely stream documents, videos, music, and pictures, Adobe® Flash® Player 10, Netflix(support resolution up to HD), Blockbuster, Amazon Kindle, full access in Google Mobile Service and much more.

The rest of specifications are Accelerometer, proximity, compass, micro USB 2.0 port, GPS with A-GPS support, bluetoth v4.0 with LE+EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with support with 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot. The thinnest and most powerful 4G QWERTY smartphone, Motorola Droid 4 will be available for order starting Feb. 10 in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online for cost at $199 with a new two-year customer agreement.
