Motorola and Sprint has just announced the Motorola ES400S Enterprise Digital Assistant, or EDA, which will be targeted at businesses and vertical markets. ES400S is the first Motorola Mobile Enterprise Handheld and offered directly by a carrier, called Sprint.
Motorola ES400S EDA enterprise comes with a 3-inch touchscreen TFT LCD display with resolution of 640 x 480 pixels (VGA), 256MB of RAM, 1 GB of ROM, a 3.2 megapixel camera with a red-line aimer for barcode scanning, GPS, Wi-Fi/802.11 a/b/g with Enterprise Security, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR, a slot for microSD memory card (up to 32GB), three-axis accelerometer, and running on Windows Mobile 6.5.3 platform.
The ES400S smartphone features Biometric fingerprint reader, three-axis accelerometer, a durable construction to withstand dust, drops and bumps, with certifications for MIL-STD 810G, for a 4-foot drop, IP42 sealing specifications and powered with a 1540 mAh standard battery, can be upgrade an additional 3080 mAh extended battery.
The very interesting features of the Moto ES400S EDA is ability to switch between the CDMA and the GSM networks. The ES400S EDA also support for both CDMA/EV-DO Rev A 850/1900 MHz technology on Sprint’s home Now Network along with GSM/HSDPA 850/1900/2100 MHz for global roaming.
The Motorola ES400S will retail at the end of October for $499.99 for qualifying business customers, and you also have the option to upgrade to the two year service agreement for $549.99. it also requires a Business Advantage Messaging or a Data Plan and an Everything Plan with data business.
