Review: Samsung Focus 2 with Windows 7.5

AT&T, the best wireless coverage worldwide of any U.S. carrier has launched their new affordable Smartphone on their Windows phone line up, called Samsung Focus 2. The Focus 2 is the first Samsug 4G LTE Windows smartphone and the third Windows Phone from AT&T (after HTC Titan 2 and Nokia Lumia 900) will be ready for order on May 20th with price tag only at $49.99 with a two-year service agreement.

Samsung Focus 2 Specifications

Physically, AT&T Samsung Focus 2 is similar with the original models, but it’s comes in white color with a curvy shape, chrome around the edges and measuring 4.79 x 2.47 x 0.43 inches and weighs 4.30 oz (122 grams), so the device can fit properly in your pocket or small purse. It’s lighter than Samsung Galaxy S 3 Android phone which has weighs at 133 grams, but it has smaller battery capacity with a 1750mAh Li-Ion battery.

Like the previous AT&T Windows smartphone (Nokia Lumia 900), the Focus 2 will be powered by a 1.4 GHZ single processor with integrated graphics accelerator, 8GB of internal storage capacity and running on latest Windows Phone 7.5. also known as Windows Mango as the operating system provides stable platform and performance for everyday tasking, web browsing, entertainment and much more. Dale Sohn, president of Samsung Mobile said, “Samsung is the unmatched leader in offering smartphones across a variety of platforms and the Focus 2 is a powerful example of our continued commitment to Windows Phone,”. Unfortunatelly, the smartphone lacks midroSD card slot for expanded storage capacity, but it’s comes with SkyDrive® features that also allow you to store photos, videos or other documents from the cloud.

Like original Samsung Focus, the lates models also comes with a 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with support resolutions display at 480 x 800 pixel provides good bright, crisp and color reproductions, even in direct sunlight. On the back, the 5-megapixel rear facing auto focus camera is support LED flash, Geo-tagging, image stabilization and capable to capture 720p video recording @30fps, while on the front there is front facing vamera for self portrait or video chats with your colleagues.

Like other latest smartphone, the Focus 2 Windows Smartphone also has full range of port and connectivity features, such as headphone jack, microUSB v2.0 slot, bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP allows other device to communicate wirelessly, GPS with with A-GPS support and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for wireless internet connections. It’s can operate at GSM Quad-band: 850/900/1800/1900MHz, UMTS 850, 1900, 2100 MHz and support two AT&T’s 4G LTE network, LTE and HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul, so you didn’t worry to lose the connections when travelling.

It’s also has three sensors, Accelerometer, proximity, compass and compatible with multi range of multimedia formats, includes 3GP, H.263, H.264, MPEG4, QCIF, WMV, Video, Streaming, 3G2, 3GP, AAC-LC, HE-AAC, MP3, M4A, WAV, WMA and Office Mobile applications that make you easy to view or edit Word document, OneNOte, Power Point and Excel document.
