Sharp has just announched a new Android smartphone, called the Sharp IS03. The IS03 smartphone will be runs on Android 2.1 operating system and will carrier with KDDI.
The Sharp IS03 powered by 1GHz QSD8650 Snapdragon, 512MB of RAM, 3.5 inches with the resolution of 960 x 640 pixels, 2GB microSD, microUSB, GPS, and a 9.6-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash for photos and videos. The 3.5 inch display has a dual-power mode which can show battery status, signal, missed calls and other reminders without the backlight being active.
The IS03 phone has connectivity like Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, EVDO Rev A, infrared, GPS and FM transmitter and one-seg TV tuner with pull-out antenna. The dimensions is 63 (W) x 121 (H) x 12.6 (D) mm with a weight of 138 grams. The Sharp IS03 Battery has an estimated talk time of 230 minutes and 200 hours for standby time and you can acces Android Apps for download music and video.
The Sharp IS03 smartphone become available for purchase in Japan in late November 2010 via wireless carrier KDDI and it’s available with three color versions, namely orange, white and black.
There is no word about price. No word on if Sharp are going to develop a version of the Sharp IS03 for the US or Europe. But the device has what is described as Global Passport CDMA, which means it can actually be used in other countries that have CDMA networks.
