Last week ago, Sony Mobile, the Japanese based company has officially announced two entry-range Android smartphone in Xperia series, called as Sony Xperia E and Sony Xperia E Dual smartphone. Designed for basic mobile communication, such as phone calls, listening music via earphone or social network activities, both of the new Xperia smartphone features HD Voice and noise cancellation for clear and crisp phones calls. Of course, like Sony Xperia J smartphone or other Sony Xperia series, the Xperia E and Xperia E Duos also offer stunning audio and music experience. Basically, both of them has similar configurations, expect the SIM card slot. The first model, Sony Xperia E aka Sony C1505/C1504 has single SIM card slot and works on GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900 nd support HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 3G network and the second model, Sony Xperia E dual (Sony Xperia C1605/C1604) also support 3G networks, but has dual SIM card slot, so users can easily switch their phone number, perfect for users on the go that need a cheaper data plans or tariffs to make a phone calls.
The single-SIM Xperia E and double-SIM Xperia E Dual will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A single core processor that has clock rates at 1GHZ. Paired with 512MB RAM, Adreno 200 GPU and working on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the operating system, both of smartphone bring good power and performance. For storage, it’s built in with a 4GB of onboard memory and has a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB.
The 3.5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display support a native resolution of 320 x 480 pixels with Timescape UI for better user experience and has a 3.2 Megapixel rear camera on the back with Geo-tagging and auto focus for capture photos and VGA video recording. Weighing only at 115.7 grams, the smartphones measures 113.5 x 61.8 x 11mm and feel comfortable in the palm of your hand, as well as fit perfectly in your pocket or little purse. It’s a heavier, but thinner than Acer Liquid Z110 Duo.
Other specs are an audio jack, DLNA Certified, microUSB v2.0 port, Stereo FM radio with RDS, GPS, Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Hotspot capabilities and a 1500mAh removable battery for up to 6.3 hours of talk time and up to 530 hours of standby time. The rest of features are an accelerometer, proximity, xLOUD Experience (audio technology), WALKMAN application, manual equalizer and full access in Music Unlimited, as well as Google Mobile Service, such as GMail, YouTube and download more app, music and video from Android Play Market.
According to press release, both of handset will be ready for order in the first quarter of 2013 with a choice of black, white and pink colors for single SIM model or black and gold colors for Dual-SIM smartphone. Sadly the company did not yet announced about pricing, but we have get information if Sony Xperia E will be release for price of €160, while Sony Xperia E dual smartphone has retail price at €169 in Germany market.
