HTC Corporation today announced summer availability of the world’s first 3G/4G Android handset. The HTC Evo 4G, is a smartphone developed by the HTC Corporation, offers one of the most robust multimedia experiences on a wireless phone today. using the name EVO instead of Supersonic for the Android-based device. Sprint CEO Dan Hesse said the device will appear in the summer. He noted that it can run on Sprint’s WiMax network “but is a terrific smartphone even at 3G speeds.”
HTC EVO 4G delivers a robust list of features, including a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor ensuring a smooth and quick user experience, 1GB built-in memory, 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi, 720p video recording and playback, and ability to Android 2.1. The device will be able to connect to Sprint’s growing network of 4G access points which utilize WiMAX technology to enable high speed Internet connectivity with download speeds that are up to 10 times faster than 3G speeds. This smarphone will fight well against the technology 3GS or the upcoming iPhone 4G and surely better than the HTC HD2 and any other Windows Mobile 6.x and will be able to match in specs and features Windows Phone 7 too. This will provide users of the HTC Evo 4G with the ability to download music, video, files, or pictures in seconds instead of minutes, as well as the ability to watch streaming high-quality HD video on the go. The maximum retail price of the HTC EVO 4G can be anything from 800USD. However, Sprint and HTC would announce contract based price plans to compete with existing and upcoming smartphones.
