Dell just releases a new UltraSharp U2711 IPS LCD display with WQHD resolution. The Dell UltraSharp U2711 display is a high end LCD monitor designed specifically for consumers interested in professional quality output. Dell’s new monitor features the PremierColor technology that delivers factory-tuned AdobeRGB and sRGB modes and a Custom Color mode for tech-savvy users and an outstanding color gamut.

The Dell UltraSharp U2711 sports 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) resolution, 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 350 cd/m2 brightness, 6ms response time, 109 pixels per inch and 178/178-degree viewing angle. It has a built-in 8-in-1 card reader and a 4-port USB hub. The U2711 offers HDMI, DisplayPort, two DVI-D, D-sub, component and composite inputs.

The U2711 uses 12-bit internal color processing which allows the monitor the ability to output 10-bit color, ultimately reducing the levels of grey, and also aids in eliminating banding. Multiple inputs are integrated into the LCD display including HDMI, two dual link DVI connections (all with HDCP support), VGA, component, and composite video connections. The U2711 also includes four USB ports total, two on the back and two on the side, along with an 8-in-1 flash memory reader.

The UltraSharp U2711 IPS LCD makes a very good impression if you’re after a high quality LCD; it’s just not intended for users that are merely looking for a decent display at an affordable price. If you’re a discerning image professional or just someone fed up with lackluster consumer LCDs, read on to find out if the U2711 is the right display for you.
