Two months ago at Computex 2012, Acer has showed the Aspire S7 to the publics and now details specs, features and price of the machine has leaked. Chris Davies from Slashgear has got officially informations from the company if the upcoming Acer Aspire S7 ultrabook will be available in UK market in September, 2012 with starting price around at £1,149.99 or equal to $1800 for base configurations and up.
Comes with aluminum-magnesium alloys for body with weighs 1.2- 1.3kg, 12.5mm thick and features a “white glass” coating, Acer Aspire S7 ultrabook is light and thin machine for business, students or professional that need portable machine for daily activities. Unlike the regular ultrabook on the market, this ultra portable laptop has multi touch screen support and you can tilt back the screen up to 180 degrees make it like a tablet.
Reportedly, the S7 will be powered by third generations of Intel Core i5 “Ivy Bridge” dual core processor, paired with 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM, integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 as graphics accelerator and built in 128GB solid state disk of internal storage that much faster than a typical laptop hard drive for base configurations. Of course, the laptop also has better configurations if you need more and performance. It will be preloaded with Windows 7 as the operating system at the launch with supported for upgraded to Windows 8 in this fall.
Acer also confirmed if they will be release the slim ultrabook in two models, the 11.6 inch FHD LED-backlit versions and the 13.3 inch FHD LED-backlit models. Both of them can produce maximum internal resolutions at 1920-by-1080 pixels and offers a Thunderbolt port that combines PCI Express and DisplayPort for connecting peripheral devices to the machines. For the 11 inch models, the battery will be provides up to 9 hours of battery life on full charge while the second models offers up to 12 hours of battery usage on single charge.
Other features are webcamera on the top of display with internal microphone for face to face video conversations, stereo speakers, multiformat card reader slot, 3.5mm audio jack, USB 3.0 port for faster speed, and Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n for wireless internet connections. However, no word on US or other market availability at this moment, but as soon as we get informations we’ll updated this report.
