Asus VivoBook U38DT specsAsus, the Taiwanese based company preparing to release a new 13.3 inch ultrabook in Asus VivoBook series, called as Asus VivoBook U38DT. Comes with just a 0.73 inch thick and a little heavier design than the expensive Asus UX31A-R5202H laptop with weighs at 3.4 pounds, instead of 2.9 pounds on the UX31A model, the VivoBook U38DT is a good choice for Asus Fans who looking for a portable AMD machine with good performance, but have a limited budget.

Based on new ultra-low-voltage (ULV) AMD Trinity processor that officially introduced on this Quartal 4 2012 with an optional  Radeon HD 8550M or Radeon HD 7600G as graphics accelerator with DirectX 11-compatible, Asus VivoBook U38DT laptop delivers ultimate power and graphics performance for office tasking, streaming video, light video editing or playing latest games.

Inside, this model has a quad core AMD A8-4555M processor with a base clock speed of 1.6GHZ with support Turbo Core technology to reach up processor speed up to 2.4GHZ, paired with 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM (expandable up to 10GB) and running on Microsoft Windows 9 as the operating system. Yeah, Asus U38DT is an ultra portable laptop, but it’s not ultrabook, so you will not find a Solid State Drive. For base configuration, the laptop equipped with a conventional 500GB Serial ATA Hard Drive as the internal storage.

In term of size, this laptop measures 12.8 inches x 8.9 inches x 0.73 inches and boasts a 13.3 inch touchscreen LCD display with Led Backlit technology and support a native resolution of 1366 X 768 pixel. On the top of display, you will also find a webcam with internal microphone for face to face video chats, as well as Bang & Olufsen ICEpower speakers and a backlit keyboard for fast and comfortable typing.

The rest of specification are an audio jack, three USB 3.0 port, multimedia card reader, mini VGA port, HDMI port for HDTV connector and bundled with a battery that provides up to 5 hours of battery life on full charges, as well as a Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11b/g/n WLAN for internet connection. Unfortunately, the company did not yet announced about pricing or availability in US, but one of Germany retailer has list the Asus VivoBook U38DT on their site for cost of €800 or around $855.
