Google has announced the new netbook based on Chrome operating system namely Google Cr-48. For now, Google just offering Cr-48 for beta test via the Pilot program. this program only open to US applicants and Google say that “we plan to distribute thousands of Chrome notebooks to developers, users, enterprises and schools as part of the Pilot program.” DigiTimes has reporting that Inventec is delivering 60,000 of the CR 48 devices to Google.

Google Cr 48 netbook specs includes 12.1-inch display screen, Flash storage, built-in USB port, built-in USB port, web cam, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11n, weighs 3.8 pounds, and has full Size keyboard with Oversized clickable touchpad and no caps-lock or function keys. The device comes in Black Color and Google also report that Acer and Samsung will be making available the retail Chrome OS models from the middle of 2011.

For connectivity, Cr-48 Google netbook offers Wi-Fi 802.11n and Qualcomm Gobi 3G chip that supports CDMA EV-DO, GSM / GPRS / EDGE and UMTS / HSDPA with Verizon Wireless providing cellular connectivity and also open to various carriers internationally. . The Google Cr 48 boots in about 10 seconds and resumes from sleep instantly and has an impressive battery life with more than 8 hours of active use and up to a whopping 8 days in stand-by.
