Acer has just revealed the first 10 finger multi-touch dual-screen laptop/tablet namely Acer ICONIA Touchbook in New York. The Iconia designed to provide the optimal all-point multi-touch experience on a dual-display tablet with the Acer Ring apps. The Acer Ring allows you to start touch applications by scrolling through the App cards and tapping on the one you choose. This gives the user easy fingertips controls for popular functions, like getting to the Virtual Keyboard, Gesture Editor, Window Manager, and Device Control Console.

To access the keyboard on the bottom Iconia screen, you just need to put both hands on the display, so that the screen can register the tip of your ten fingers. Once you do that, the software keyboard will pop up, and you can begin typing.  It comes with a full-size QWERTY keyboard with a touchpad, a numeric keypad and international language support to give users the same experience of a traditional physical keyboard and features predictive text input for natural-speed typing while avoiding mistakes.

Acer Iconia dual-screen tablet is boasts Intel Core i5-480M, i5-560M and i5-580M processor, a 320/500/640/750GB hard drive, 4GB DDR3 Memory, two 14-inch Multi-Touch displays in 1366×768 resolution, Intel HD graphics with 128MB RAM, VGA/HDMI outputs, S/PDIF interface, 2 USB ports, one USB jack, built-in microphone, Bluetooth 3.0 + HS,  and Acer CrystalEye webcam.

Connectivity on the ICONIA Touchbook comes in a USB 3.0 port, two 2.0 ports, HDMI, Integrated 3G WWAN, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, gigabit Ethernet, and also comes with a four-cell battery, 6.18 lbs, one year warranty and runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.

Acer ICONIA Touchbook also comes with Acer’s touch devices such as Acer TouchBrowser, Acer TouchPhoto, Acer TouchMusic, Acer TouchVideo and has features MyJournal to collect dynamically updated to display all the latest information and can be categorized and displayed on your preferred topics, SocialJogger for checking updates from Facebook, YouTube and Flickr in all in one place, and Scrapbook lets you easily store clippings, posts and just about anything else from different sources in the same place.

Acer ICONIA Touchbook multi-touch dual-screen laptop/tablet will be available in the UK Market on 16 January 2011 and expected price of £1,500.
