Archos 48 Internet Tablet Review, Specs and Price

Archos, the French company has just quietly launched their new Internet Tablet, namely Archos 48 Tablet. The new Archos 48 Internet tablet is basic version of the Archos 5, which is lack GPS and has more cheaper $150 than the Archos 5 tablet. The Archos 48 will be sold with starting price at $299 and runs on Android 1.6 Donut Operating System without the Android Market preloaded.

Archos 48 Internet tablet is powered by an 800 MHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, 256MB of RAM, up to 500 GB hard drive, a 4.8 inch resistive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, built-in speaker, microphone, kickstand, FM radio, and enabling 720p HD video playback. Dimensions of the device are 143.2 x 78.8 x 20 mm with weighs in 286 grams.

The Archos 48 is features multimedia capabilities which supports Video Codecs includes MPEG-4 HD (up to 720p), Motion JPEG Video, MPEG-2, WMV HD (720p), Audio codecs Stereo MP3 decoding, AAC+ stereo audio files and DVR station for Record Live TV, Watch Web TV and play out your HD videos on a large screen TV with the HDMI connection. Other specifications of Archos 48 Internet tablet are Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0, FM transmitter, mini USB 2.0 port and Lithium Polymer battery provide Music playback time up to 22 hours and Video playback up to 7 hours.
