Archos 80 Cobalt reviewArchos, the French based company has expanded their middle range Android Element tablet line up with Archos 80 Cobalt. Like the Arnova 8b G2 Android tablet, the 80 Cobalt also brings a 8.0 inch capacitive multitouch screen display which capable to playing 720p HD video playback, aimed for people who looking for a mid-range tablet which has a good multimedia and entertainment features, but has affordable price.

Yeah, the device is not offer commonly display size on the tablet on its class. Usually, Android tablet has a 7 inch, 7.9 inch or 10.1 inch display, but Archos 80 Cobalt tablet brings 8.0 inch display and reportedly will gives wider viewing angle than commonly tablet on the market with support a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixel display. Of course, this model also has a HDMI port to connect the device into HDTV and enjoy full high definition video playback, photos or games with your friends or family.

Under the hood, we don’t have an information about type of processor and graphics accelerator but according to product page, the device will be powered by a dual core processor with a base clock speed of 1.6GHZ and integrated with a quad core GPU to enhanced graphics performance. Paired with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal flash memory and running on Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich as the operating system with Flash 11 support provides smooth and fast browsing experience, streaming video on the internet or playing the latest modern 3D games.

Weighing only at 470 grams with easy-grip body, Archos 80 Cobalt is slightly heavier than GoTab GTi8 tablet with weighs only at 430g and also has 8.0 inch display screen . Dimension of the Cobalt tablet are 153.5 x 203 x 11.5 mm and brings a front facing camera with internal microphone for face to face video communication, a 2.0 Mega Pixel rear camera for capture photos and video recording, G-sensor and speakers.
