Review: Archos 80 G9 and Archos 101 G9 Tablet

Archos, a innovator and pioneer in the tablet maker just announced their two new affordable Android tablet with high performance, called Archos 80 G9 and Archos 101 G9. The 80 G9 and 101 G9 tablet is based on Android 3.1 Honeycomb for operating system, comes with several optiona and expected will be release in September. Archos 80 G9 tablet will be launch with starting price at $279 while Archos 101 G9 Tablet will be launch to the market with starting price at $349.


As the Android tablet, both of new Archos G9 tablet features a full web experience complete with Adobe Flash support, Google’s full suite of mobile applications, and access to Android Market for download to over 200,000 applications such as games, social media, widget, books, and news. You can also purchase the ARCHOS 3G Stick at $49 with a Pay-As-You-Go Plan and used with this device for web browsing or communication without need to choose between WiFi and 3G models at purchase.


The main difference betwen both of them are in display size and weight. Archos 80 G9 Android tablet is boasts 8-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and 4:3 aspect ratio, while Archos 101 G9 Android tablet is sporting a 10.1-inch touchscreen panel with 1024 x 768 pixels of resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. Both of them also support a kickstand on the back side of the unit, Built-in GPS, streo speakers, G-sensor, Vibrator, compas, microphone and automatically downloads latest firmware updates when the WiFi connection is activated.


The main specifications for both of them are 1.5GHz dual-core OMAP 4 processor (ARM Cortex A9) from Texas instruments, front-facing camera capable of 720p video, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR, microSD slot, an HDMI output support for 1080p HD playback, a full sized USB connector for a 3G modem and Lithium Polymer battery provide up to Music playback time up to 36 hrs or Video playback time up to 7 hrs. The 80 G9 and 101 G9 Android tablet also support for play video files with the following formats MKV, FLV, RM, RMVB, ASF, AVI, MP4, MOV, 3GP, MPG, PS, TS, VOB, and WMV


The 80 G9 tablet will be available in two versions, the Archos 80 G9 flash memory version with 16GB internal + microSD slot measures in 226 mm x 155.3 mm x 11.7 mm and weighs 465g, while Archos 80 G9 Hard Drive 250GB HDD version is measures in 226 mm x 155.3 mm x 14.7 mm with weight 599g (21.9 oz). The 101 G9 tablet also available in two versions, ARCHOS 101 G9 Flash series measures in 276 mm x 167.3 mm x 12.6 mm with weight 649g (23.8 oz) and ARCHOS 101 G9 Hard Drive series measures in 276 mm x 167.3 mm x 15.6 mm with weight 755g (27.7 oz).
