Finally, Barnes & Noble has officially announced two multimedia and entertainment tablet in UK market, the lightest seven inch NOOK HD and the lightest 9 inch NOOK HD+ tablet. Few days ago via press release, the company has confirms if both of them will available for pre-order in next month with two clor options, white (Snow) and Grey (Smoke). It expected will be hit the retailers store in November with starting price at £159 for the NOOK HD tablet and starting at £229 for the NOOK HD+.
The Nook HD comes with a 1.3GHz OMAP 4470 dual-core processor that paired with 1GB of RAM and preloaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. It comes in 8GB model and 16GB model and boasts 7 inch laminated screen display that features a screen resolution of 1440 x 900 delivers bright, crisp and brilliant color for images and video. It offers 400 nits of brightness, 243 pixels per inch at a 3:2 aspect ratio and extra-wide viewing angles than other 7 inch tablet on it class. B&N also claim if the model delivers higher pixels up to 25 percent and faster performance than the Kindle Fire HD.
The NOOK HD+ tablet have higher configuration with a 1.5 GHz OMAP4470 Dual-Core Processor as the heart of the device, 1GB of RAM and working on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the operating system. Unlike the HD model, this model available in 16GB and 32GB with microSD card slot for expanded memory capacity with extre 32GB memory. The 9 inch Full High definition display capable to playing 1080p video playback, 256 PPI (pixels per inch) at a 16:10 aspect ratio and extra-wide viewing angles than it competitor.
Dimensions are 7.65 x 5.00 x 0.43 inch with weighs only at 11.1 oz (315 g) for HD model, while the HD+ has weighs at 18.2 oz (515 g) with measures at 9.46 x 6.41 x 0.45 inch. Both of them will shipped with giant battery that provides up to 9 hours of video playback or up to 10.5 hours of reading on single charge. Other specification are a 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack, stereo speakers with SRS TruMedia support for stunning audio experience, microSD slot for expand storage capacity up to 64GB, HDMI port to connect into HDTV and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for wireless internet connection.
