Casio Computer Co, Ltd has recently introduced their latest rugged Android tablet, called as Casio V-T500-GE and Casio V-T500E. Comes with the most of the Casio rugged advanced design, both of the tablet comes with a strong body with protection against water and dust. According the Press Release, the company claims if the V-T500-GE and V-T500E compliance to IP54 standards make the device can withstand a drop of up to one meter and protection against water and dust.
Basically, Casio V-T500-GE and Casio V-T500E tablet has same design and smilar specifications, but the V-T500-GE offer better connectivity features with support HSPA cellular networks for internet connections. In term of interface and connectivity, new Casio V-T500 series will be equipped with micro USB 2.0 port, SD/microSD card reader slot, mini-HDMI output to connect with external HDTV, Bluetooth® Ver.4.0+EDR/LE to communicate wirelessly with other compatible device and Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g/n for internet connections.
Inside, Casio V-T500-GE and V-T500E will be powered by a 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 dual-core processor, paired with 1GB of RAM, PowerVR SGX540 as graphics processing unit, 16GB of internal storage (expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot) and pre-installed with Google’s latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) as the operating system provides good combination and enough performance to handle office tasks and light multimedia tasks.
Like Getac E110 Rugged Tablet, both of them willl be sports 10.1 inch color LCD multi touch display with LED backlight and capable to produce maximum resolutions at 1280×800 pixel delivers clear, crisp, sharp and vivid color reproductions. On the front, there is 5.0-megapixel front facing auto focus camera for face to face video chats, while on the back the 5.0 mega pixels Auto focus Camera with LED light provides good quality photos and video recording. It also support multi-finger touch or a digitizer pen.
In term of size, the V-T500-GE and V-T500E rugged business tablet is thicker than Dell Latitude 10 and has dimensions in 269 × 190 x 14.4 mm and has weighs around at 780g (including standard rechargeable battery pack). It packed with rechargeable lithium-polymer battery that provides up to 10 hours of battery life for Casio V-T500-E model and up to 12 hours of battery life for Casio V-T500-GE models.
Other features are acceleration sensor, geomagnetic sensor, light sensor, GPS receiver and an integrated NFC Reader/Writer with support RFID tags.
