After introduce Envy X2 Tablet few months ago, now Hewlett-Packard has expanded their Windows 8 tablet line up with HP ElitePad 900 tablet. Like the first model, the ElitePad 900 Windows 8 tablet also supports pen input, but this model has smaller screen that makes it more comfortable in your hand and easy to carry for users on the go. Of course, the company also create this model with new Enterprise features, new design and some improved specs.
Just like the EliteBook laptop series, HP ElitePad 900 tablet comes with slim, thin, ligh and rugged design. Weighing only at 1.5 pounds (680 grams) with 9.2mm thick and has an aluminum back cover combine with other high materials for design make the HP Windows 8 tablet is a big competitor for Latitude 10 tablet from Dell. The company also claim if this model meets the MIL-STD-810G military standart for drops (up to 3-feet), Functional Shock, Vibration and Dust, as well as HP 3D DriveGuard to protect the storage drive.

Powered by a 1.8GHZ Dual-Core Atom Processor Z2760 SoC processor with Intel x86 support and support for HP Client Management solutions. It built in with some security features, drive encryption and other features that designed aimed at business and enterprise users. On the press release, Todd Bradley, executive vice president, printing and personal systems Hewlett-Packard said, “Businesses used to face a tough purchase decision: How to find a product that will delight employees and help them be more productive, while also making sure IT can secure and manage it.”
It also incorporated with 2GB of DDR3 RAM, integrated graphics and a choice of 32GB or 64GB Solid-State Drives for internal storage. For operating system, the Trail Atom’s tablet preloaded with the latest Windows 8 as the operating system and compatible with almost all Windows applications. Moreover, the tablet also support HP PageLift, HP Wireless Hotspot, CyberLink Media suite, LANDesk Management Suite and other HP’s technologies that usually can found on the conventional laptop.
The 10.1 inch Widescreen High Definition In-Plane Switching (IPS) touch screen display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It supports Pen input (HP Executive Tablet Pen sold separately) and can produce 400-nit brightness with support a resolution at 1280 x 800 pixel. Above the screen, there is an 8-megapixel rear camera with Led Flash for capture photos, face to face video chats and 1080p video recording.

Furthermore, the 10.1 inch Windows tablet also equipped with internal digital microphone, standart stereo speakers SRS Audio enhancement, audio jack, microSD card slot, Ethernet LAN, VGA port, HDMI port, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN and SIM card slot wih support 3G / 4G networks. Reportedly, HP 900 tablet also has HP’s various “Smart Jackets” that support Expansion Jacket for extra connectivity port and Productivity Jacket for extra SD card reader, keyboard for fast and accurate typing and extra connectivity ports. Unfortunately, the company is not yet announced about pricing, but the company has confirmed if HP ElitePad 900 tablet is scheduled to release in the US market sometime in the January, 2013.
