Hewlett-Packard, the Palo Alto company just announced their new 11.6 inch hybrid tablet at the company events in San Francisco, the HP Envy X2. Based on new Intel Clover Trail Low Ultra Voltage platform and clear and crisp IPD display screen, this device will be great performance for productivity and entertainmnet experience.
Like the Asus Eee Pad Transformer hybrid tablet, new Envy X2 also offers dual functionality like a laptop with full size keyboard, includes a trackpad and palm rest for comfortable and accurate typing and you can also uses it like a conventional tablet by removing the base keyboard with unlocked two latch magnets at the hinge for a tablet mode. At tablet mode, it has weighs only at 1.5 pounds or around at 3.1 pounds as a laptop and 8.5 millimeters thick and shipped with dual batteries ( one on the tablet and other batteries built in in docking keyboard) for up to 8 hours of battery life on full charge is you use it in the laptop mode.
Speaking of design, the upcoming HP Envy X2 also comes with gorgeous, light and thin design. Comes with thin aluminum chassis with features smooth rounded corners and metallic finish, the slate PC is comfortable, durable and solid in your hand. The full-size chiclet keyboard provides more accurate and fast typing than you use the virtual keyboard screen.
Under the hood, HP Envy X2 will be powered by Intel Atom Z2760 dual core processor that paired with two gigabytes of RAM and integrated with 64GB of solid-state drive storage for internal storage that backed by microSDcard slot for expand storage capacity up to 64GB. Hewlett-Packard also confirmed if this model will be preloaded with new Microsoft Windows 8 as the operating system.
The 11.6 inch High Definition IPS display offers wide viewing angles, 400 brightness, support a digitizer and stylus plus capable to produce maximum resolution at 1366-by-768-pixel. Like other conventional tablet on the market, HP X2 also has dual camera for capture photos, video recording or high quality face to face viddeo chats. On the back, there is 8 megapixel rear camera, while on the front you’ll find HD camera that integrated with microphone.
Other specifications are microSD card slot, USB port, audio jack, NFC (Near Field Communications) capabilities for sharing photos, files, video and contacts, and WiFifor connect to wireless networks. On the keyboard base, you’ll also find extra USB port, SDcard slot for transfer your multimedia files from and to other compatible device and HDMI port just in case you need and want to enjoy the content with your friends or family on HDTV.
The company also says if their product is sturdy, responsive, stylish, compact and will be gives great experience when you playing games, streaming video, web browsing or everything that people today want to do with a tablet. Unfortunatelly, no word on pricing and availability at this moment, but there is a rumor if HP Envy X2 tablet laptop will be has price tag below $1,000 and expected will be ready for order at the end of this year.
