Lenovo just announced their up coming new convertible tablet, called Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Tablet. The ThinkPad X220 is convertible Tablet PC that offer combines the sophisticated performance and durability of a ThinkPad notebook twith features pen + multi-touch input with an option for a direct-bonded Gorilla Glass display for for those who need pen-based computing outdoors and a nearly 180 degree viewing angle.

The Lenovo X220 tablet is based on up to second generation Intel Core i7 processors, Intel HD Graphics, a multitouch IPS display with resolution of 1366 x 768 pixel, although Gorilla Glass and Infinity Glass options, up to 8GB DDR3, up to 320GB Hard Disk Drive 5400rpm or up to 160GB Solid State Drive, UltraBase with Multiburner or with Write Disabled, 720p High Definition camera, Dual digital microphones, new Keyboard enhancements with larger Escape and Delete keys, and runs on Genuine Windows 7 Home Basic/Premium/Profesional.

Other specifications of the ThinkPad X220 tablet are display Port, three USB 2.0 port, WiFi, mobile broadband support, WiMAX, 3G options for connectivity and powered with a 6 cell battery for up to 9 hours of battery life or up to 18 hours of life with 6 Cell battery and the ThinkPad external battery pack. Dimensions of the device are 305.0mm x 228.7mm x 27-31.3mm with weight 1.76Kg) with 4 cell battery. Lenovo ThinkPad X220 also comes with 45% larger touchpad with new buttonless design, and Lenovo’s Turbo Boost with optimizes Intel TurboBoost for greater performance boosts. Lenovo ThinkPad X220 convertible tablet will be launch in SUMMER 2011 with price tag at approximately $1,199.
