Sprint and Motorola just introduced the new 4G Android Smartphone, called Motorola PHOTON 4G. The PHOTON 4G is the first Smartphone on Sprint’s 4G network with features 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and also the their first Sprint 4G phone to have international roaming capabilities. Sprint PHOTON 4G will be works on Sprint’s WiMax-based 4G network with support in 100 American cities and can also connect in Europe and Asia at slower speeds using the GSM standard.

Motorola PHOTON 4G Features

Motorola PHOTON 4G is sililar with Motorola’s Atrix 4G with the ability to connect over 3G or 4G and support up to 8 users to connect to the internet with its portable hotspot. The PHOTON 4G smartphone also support optional laptop dock that turns the phone into a notebook, access to Tegra Zone app store, Motorola Media Link, security features with new VPN integration and data saver and Android Market for access to more than 200,000 useful applications, widgets and games. The Sprint Motorola PHOTON 4G also has a tiny remote control (also optional) for adjusting the volume, starting and stopping videos and returning to the home screen.

Powered by Dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor with 1GB of RAM, the device also boasts a 4.3-inch Quarter High Definition Touch Screen display with 540 x 960 pixels, 16GB of onboard memory with support for up to 32GB SD Card, dual camera with an 8-megapixel camera on the back with 720p video capture and and VGA front-facing camera for video chat and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread for operating system. Dimensions of Motorola PHOTON 4G are 2.6 inches x 5.0 inches x 0.5 inches with 1700 mAh Lithium-ion battery for power supply that offer Talktime: CDMA: up to 10 hours; WDCDMA: up to 9.1 hours; GSM up to 10.4 hours.

Motorola PHOTON 4G Release date

Sprint Motorola PHOTON 4G Android smartphone also equipped with Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, microUSB 2.0, Accelerometer, Compass, 3.5mm earphone jack, GPS and support several docks including the classic Multimedia Dock and a Car Dock. There is no informations about price or release date, but the PHOTON 4G is expected will be hit to the market in the 3rd Quarter of 2011 on Sprint’s network.
