After released Toughbook SX2 that designed for business users, Panasonic is ready now to release a new convertible tablet in Toughbook line up, the Tougbook C2. Of course, like other Panasonic Toughbook series, Panasonic Tougbook C2 also has semi rugged design that can handle 12 inch drop, thanks to magnesium casing with shock mounted hard drive, as well as Ivy Bridge platform and the latest Microsoft Windows 8 as the operating system.
Yeah, Panasonic Tougbook C2 is the first convertible tablet PC from Panasonic that shipped with Microsoft Windows 8 OS. Combines with a 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5-3427U dual core processor that can over clock up to 2.8GHZ (thanks to Turbo Boost technology), up to 8GB of DDR3 SDRAM for highest configuration and a 500GB Serial ATA HDD or optional a 256GB Solid State Drive (SSD) for faster respond system, this convertible machine delivers ultimate performance for business, healthcare worker, IT or other professional users that usually works in wide range of work environments.
Designed for travel companions, the C2 also offer portability with weighs only at 3.9 pounds and long life battery that promises will gives up to 11 hours of battery life on full charge. Like Toshiba Satellite U925t, the Panasonic convertible tablet also boasts a 12.5 inch High definition touch screen LCD display with IPS technology and anti-reflective plus anti-glare treatment coating. Reportedly, the display offers 500-nit brightness with multi touch support and capable to produce maximum internal resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. In tablet mode, you can also uses a Pen stylus for write, signature or drawing.
Furthermore, you will also find a HD 720p webcam that built into bezel with digital microphone for video conferencing, optional 3.0 Mega Pixel rear facing auto focus camera, SmartCard reader, optional NFC, and few sensors, including a magnetic, acceleration, ambient light and gyro sensors. Other specs are a USB port, HDMI port, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n and optional 3G/4G networks.
Price and release Date
“We engineered the Toughbook C2 to go where our customers go and to do whatever they need it to do, without the concerns that are inherent with a less reliable notebook or tablet,” said Kyp Walls, director of product management, Panasonic System Communications Company of North America. On the press release, the company also confirmed if Panasonic Tougbook C2 convertible tablet has suggested retailer price of $2949 with three-year limited warranty and expected will be started to shipping before the end of this year.
