Panasonic Toughpad A1 TabletPanasonic, the Japanese based company has announed new Toughpad™ series at the CommunicAsia 2012 in Singapore, the Panasonic Toughpad A1 and now the tablet has reached the FCC and epected will be available soon in US market. Comes with nicer display screen than Panasonic UN-W700, powerful performance provides stable platform to handle your multimedia and entertainmnet tasking and rugged design with with IP 65 certified for dust, water, shock and temperature, the Toughpad A1 is perfect device for profesional users that works in defence, utilities and construction.

Panasonic Toughpad A1 is the first Panasonic’s rugged tablet with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the operating system. As the rugged device, this model comes with magnesium alloy chassis with ABS and meets MIL-STD-810G and IP65 certified, so you’ll worry again about water, shock, temperature and dust, even in extreme conditions. Measuring in 266.3 x 212 x 17 mm with weighs about at 970 grams and packed with Lithium Ion 4590mAh battery that promises will gives up to nine-hour of battery life on normal usage at one charge.

Under the hood, the Panasonic A1 tablet will be powered by a 1.2GHZ Marvell dual core processor that coupled with 1GB of SDRAM (LP-DDR2) for multitasking power and preinstalled with Android™ 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) for operating system delivers enough power for business users to handle their office works. For base configurations, you’ll get 16GB of internal flash storage with microSDHC card support for expanded storage capacity up to 32GB.

On the front, there is 2 megapixel camera that integrated with microphone for face to face video calling and on the back, you’ll find 5MP rear facing camera with auto focus and LED light for capture high quality photos and video recording. It has 5 tablet buttons (Power, Back, Home, Menu, Dashboard) and sports 10.1 inch XGA LED LCD multi touch display with support hight britness at 500 nit and capable to produce maximum resolutions at 1024 x 768 pixel. It also support virtual QWERTY keyboard, electronic styluspen, Anti-reflective and anti-glare screen that meke it ideal for in door and out door use.

Designed to gives great mobile computing experience for business and professional users, Panasonic Toughpad A1 tablet also preloaded with several security features to protect the system and yor important files, such as software encryption, hardware encryption, McAfee Mobile Security(trial version), root protection, security cable lock slot, Embedded security processor, enhanced enterprise VPN, password security (PIN, pattern, password) and support for RSA token authentication. Other software are RedBend OMA-DM, Adobe Reader®, Voice search, AuthenTec QuickSec™ and Google Mobile Service appliations, such as GMaps, GMail and more. You can also donwload more useful applications on Google Play market.

The rest of specifications are micro UB 2.0 port, doking connector, Micro HDMI to connect with external monitor, GPS receiver, Bluetooth® v2.1 + EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n with support Wi-Fi hotspot router and integrated LTE 4G mobile broadband for fast internet connections. However, no word on pricing and release date in US market at this moment, but there is a rumor if Panasonic Toughpad A1 tablet will be ready for order in August and has price tag around at $1,200 with 3 year warranty.
