Toshiba has introduces their first Android tablet computer, FOLIO 100 Tablet at IFA. This Toshiba FOLIO 100 comes in 3G and non-3G versions and run Android 2.2. This device competing directly the Apple iPad market.
Toshiba FOLIO 100 Tablet powered with NVIDIA dual-core Tegra 250, 10.1-inch capacitive multi-touch screen (1,024 x 600 resolution), a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, 16GB of internal storage, HDMI port, an SD memory card slot, USB 2.0 hubs, WiFi, and Bluetooth. Toshiba don’t make any mention of GPS, but it would be useful if they were to include it in the 3G version.
Folio 100 Tablet preloaded with a eBook reader, office suite, notepad and Adobe Flash 10.1, and Toshiba Market Place, a service that offers easy access to various download choices for multimedia content, services and apps and a 1020mAh battery provides up to 7 hours of mixed use life.
The Toshiba Folio 100 tablet also comes preinstalled with Fring (for videoconferencing), the Opera web browser, Music Place and Evernote. The Music Place offers easy access to one of the widest catalogues of music and allows easy syncing to a choice of devices.
The Toshiba Folio 100 should be available in October for just £329 including VAT (about €400 or $429) in Europe but Toshiba did not announce a US release date.
