Samsung’s monster-sized Smartphone, the original Galaxy Note that was released in 2011, led to the birth of “phablet” category. However, back in early December, after new color options were introduced by Samsung for their latest Samsung Galaxy Note 3, it was quite uncertain which of those options would be headed stateside.
The good news is that earlier this month a rumor had been going around that the Note 3 by Samsung is headed to a Verizon Wireless in a “Rose Gold” version. Moreover, this is no longer a rumor since it has been officially confirmed by Samsung that a new Rose Gold version will indeed be a Verizon exclusive.
Is Samsung Really Releasing a Verizon Exclusive Rose Gold Galaxy Note 3?
On its official press website, Samsung made the confirmation that the Rose Gold version will be on sale exclusively on Verizon Wireless. The Rose Gold version will be offered by Verizon, which comes with golden accents on its camera housing, home button, outer edge and S Pen.
Of course, the specs of the Samsung’s upcoming Rose Gold Smartphone are going to be same as the plain old black and white models that Samsung had launched last year. This means that the bling frame of this device will be packing a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED 1080 p display, a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 13-megapixel camera on the rear.
Price And When Will Samsung Release It?
However, one thing that is unfortunate for Verizon subscribers who also happen to be fond of golden phablets, two important details about the Galaxy Note 3 Rose Gold version were actually left out by Samsung. The thing that has not yet been revealed by the company is when exactly will the Rose Gold version of the Smartphone will be hitting Verizon’s shelves and how much is it going to cost once it is released.
It is likely that the Rose Gold version will be priced by Verizon in pretty much the same way as the regular black and white models were priced. As a reminder, the current price of the black and white models with a two-year Verizon Wireless contract is around $299.99. As far as the launch is concerned, the fact that this device has been added by Samsung to its press website is an indication that the Rose Gold version is very near to making its retail debut.
What To Expect From The Rose Gold Galaxy Note 3?
It is also true that the Rose Gold version cannot exactly be characterized as a major coup for Verizon Wireless, considering that it is basically the same Note 3 Smartphone that has been available since October 2013. Nonetheless, the appeal of this gadget is sure to be extended with the release of this new color option, hopefully furthering its life cycle to quite an extent. It has has already crossed over into the mainstream with more than 10 million devices having been sold early last month.
So if you have a thing for phablets, or whether you had been considering buying Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3, perhaps you should wait a little longer and the upcoming Rose Gold version could be yours. Stay tuned because Samsung and Verizon might end up being chatty about the release date.
